We have already seen how fast and capable the all-new Subaru WRX STI is in Mark Higgins’ record-breaking Isle of Man run, so now it’s time for a review that takes a look at the performance car’s practicality.

Since this is a sedan, Carbuyer’s Rebecca Jackson says the WRX STI’s boot has a decent size even for families, although space in the back is not great for adults. While the driver (presumably the father) will enjoy the Subaru’s firm and stable ride, the wife and kids will rather find it uncomfortable, the reviewer says.

There is something else that this review points out, more specifically that the new Subaru WRX STI is £5,000 more expensive than its predecessor, bringing it into VW Golf R territory, which delivers similar levels of performance and a better quality interior.

Ed. Note: While Jackson says that it’s £5,000 more expensive than the older model, according to Subaru’s PR, the new WRX STI is about “£4,000 cheaper than its predecessor” at £28,995. However, in 2012, Subaru heavily discounted the older WRX STI, cutting its price by £6000 to £26,995.
