McLaren is testing its customers’ reactions to the upcoming P1 GTR track-exclusive monster with a new rendering. The sketch was reportedly sent to owners of the road-going P1, the only ones who can apply to buy a P1 GTR.

The rendering shows a very aggressive rear end featuring a huge fixed wing and an equally massive diffuser who leave no room for interpretation that this is a track-focused machine. Another change from the production model is the exhaust, which on the P1 GTR consists of two big round pipes mounted centrally under the rear wing.

Large intakes and inlets designed for maximum aerodynamics and cooling can be seen on the side of the car, as well as the slick racing tires. As for the design of the front end, we’ll just have to use our imagination, but it’s not hard to believe that it will be equally extreme as the rest of the car.

McLaren announced the P1 GTR in June and said it will begin building it when the 375th and final example of the road car has been completed.

The P1 GTR will feature a powertrain with an intended power output of 1,000PS (986 bhp), 84PS (83 hp) more than the street-legal P1. Each McLaren P1 GTR will be priced at £1.98 million ($3.35 million), with the price including a tailored program created for each customer to build driver capability.
