If you know VW, then you should have known what to except from the new 2015 Passat for global markets except North America: something not too fancy, not too boring. One way VW could give some spark to its bread-and-butter mid-size model is through the addition of new derivatives, as featured in these renderings.

Made by X-Tomi who was also responsible for the 2016 Passat Coupe concept that we shared with you last week, they include a Photoshop study for a two-door bread van / Shooting Brake edition and a GTI-themed version of the existing sedan.

Whereas a Passat Coupe isn’t completely out of the question – especially if there’s interest from China, the other two have very few, if any, chances of becoming a reality in VW’s realm.

That’s not to say we won’t see a hotter Passat, but if we do, it will likely wear the “R” moniker and not the “GTI” badge.
