New concerns over wiring in 2013 Escapes were announced Friday, which also affect the Ford Focus ST.

According to Reuters, Ford will recall 160,000 Escapes and Focus STs over a wiring flaw that reportedly affects engine performance, such as contributing to stalling.

The issue concerns models equipped with the 2.0-liter Ecoboost engine, which is optional on Escapes and the only engine on the Focus ST. The recall comes after more than a year of Focus ST owners sharing cases of stalling vehicles on FocusST.org forums.

Ford has issued 11 recalls for the current Escape, although most have pertained to models equipped with the popular 1.6-liter Ecoboost engine that had a risk of catching fire.

The company says no crashes or injuries have been reported in connection with the wiring harness problem in the most recent recall.
