It always seems relevant to bring up the slew of models that Lotus presented at the 2010 Paris motor show, and how none of them eventually materialized, despite getting a lot of interest and praise at the time.

Since then, rumors have been surfacing from time to time, rekindling the idea that one or more of those models would eventually be put into production.

This time, a rumor launched by a Malaysian publication called Utusan Malaysia, suggests that the company is not planning one unusual new model, but two.

Apparently, the new Lotus CEO, put in place by parent company DRB-Hicom, has big plans for the brand. He wants to make full use of the badge kudos associated with Lotus and plop them on popular body styles like a sedan and/or an SUV.

These shapes of car were seemingly chosen as they are the top pic of the continental Asian market.

However, even if this rumor turns out to be true, we still have to wait a while (read a good few years) before anything of the sort materializes. Until then, there will be plenty more of this
