The Jaguar XF is an executive sedan that doesn’t normally inspire passion.

Sure, it’s good-looking enough (although I liked the pre-facelift version better) and is a much rarer sight on the road than its German competitors, but apart from that, there aren’t that many reasons why you would choose it over the competition: it doesn’t have the most modern engines or technologies and is not in its prime anymore.

Nevertheless, Jaguar seems to have the antidote for aging – it’s called the XFR-S and is the most powerful and extreme model of the XF family.

Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing 542hp (550PS) and 502 lb-ft (680Nm), it has 40hp and 41 lb-ft more torque than the standard XFR. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). Oh, and it looks a lot meaner than the standard Jaguar XF.
