The first production 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat carrying VIN #0001 was sold for $825,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auction on Saturday, September 27. That’s more than 13 times the base price of a regular Challenger SRT Hellcat, which starts from $60,990, including a $995 destination charge.

All the proceeds from the sale will go to Opportunity Village, a not-for-profit organization that serves people with significant intellectual disabilities in the Las Vegas area. Hand-painted at the Viper paint facility in an exclusive Stryker Red paint, VIN #0001 is the only Challenger ever to feature the Viper-exclusive exterior color. It also has special SRT Hellcat badging, specific VIN documentation and one-of-a-kind memorabilia.

The auction package included a HEMI Orange painted presentation box with VIN #0001 electronic vehicle build book and video documentary, still shots, vehicle footage, an authentic Challenger SRT Hellcat embossed Laguna Leather iPad sleeve, a signed SRT Hellcat lithograph and a unique “birth certificate” for VIN #0001.

No modifications were made under the hood, with the one-off model being powered by the same 6.2-liter supercharged SRT Hellcat engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm). of torque. The engine is mated to a TorqueFlite 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission with rev-matching downshifts.

Other distinguishing features are the 15.4-inch Brembo front disc brakes with two-piece rotors and six-piston calipers (the largest brakes ever offered by Chrysler Group) and 20-by-9.5-inch Matte Black Slingshot wheels.

The cabin features performance-oriented seats upholstered in premium black Laguna leather, a standard SRT flat-bottom steering wheel, a Tic-Toc-Tach gauge cluster with unique red display and a 200 MPH (322 km/h) speedometer. The dashboard also includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
