If you judge vehicles by the kind of license you need to drive them, then, at least in the UK, the BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products and Vehicles) Can-Am Spyder (three wheeler) is a car. It very obviously isn’t, though, and on top of that it comes from a company that is not normally associated with road vehicles.

The Can-Am Spyder is very obviously more bike than car, but since it stands upright on its own, it’s quite possibly aimed at people who would want to get into bikes but are balance-impaired, or just scared of two wheels.

It’s by no means a bad vehicle, as XCAR found out in the review posted below, it’s just that you’ll never really be taken seriously by either community: car drivers will shun you for being on a bike, while motorcyclists will elbow each other and giggle at your third wheel as you drive/ride past.
