Forza Horizon 2 is a highly anticipated title. It’s got everything you could possibly want from a modern racing game: a beautiful open-world setting, lots of cars, a strong online and multiplayer connection that is intrinsically linked to the core gameplay experience, as well as the franchise name to back it.

Set to release on September 30, publisher Microsoft decided to first give everybody a taste of what it’s like by allowing anybody (with an Xbox One) to download a demo. Available since September 17, the demo features a small part of the map, some of the cars and challenges players will experience in the full game.

Not a lot can be said about it, though, other than the fact that it looks really pretty, but as we’ve been lead to expect with the first Horizon game, the handling lurches ever closer to the arcade sphere – perhaps a bit too much for a game called Forza.

This becomes evident when cars like the Audi RS3, a fwd-biased all-wheel drive car drifts like a 1,000 hp Nissan GT-R around the corners with incredible ease. Some may like that kind of thing, but it will keep some from truly loving the game.

The demo is quite limited, so all you really need for a first impression are the three videos posted below – all others you’ll find from different uploaders are slight variations and nothing more.
