With its combination of extreme grip, acceleration and go-faster aero tech, the McLaren 650S Spider can really hold its own on a track, with no modifications to speak of. You’d be foolish to try to enhance its performance; it’s got an absurd amount already.

It not only feels like a racing car, but also goes and handles like one, as AutoExpress discovered when it handed the car to its resident racing driver Owen Mildenhall.

The question before the car’s track run is whether or not it will be the fastest one they’ve ever had around said circuit. The record was held by the Porsche 911 GT3.

The answer was yes; around Blyton Park, the 650S Spider was two tenths quicker than the Porsche, over the length of an entire 2.5 km / 1.55-mile lap.

You can see the car (and its blistering lap) in the video posted below!
