The Montreal fire department doesn’t play games when it’s time to put out a dangerous blaze.

A bystander filmed the driver of a full-size fire truck pushing its way through several police cruisers and taking off the bumper of a (legally) parked BMW on the streets of the Canadian city “because the cars didn’t move quickly enough” according to reports.

Trying to explain the driver’s actions, fire official Denis Doucet told The Ottawa Sun:

“There were exceptional circumstances: a major fire in a seven-story building, the narrow streets of Old Montreal…with large vehicles,” he said. “It becomes difficult to manoeuvre.”

On the bright side, the BMW owner will be compensated by the City of Montreal.
