This is not the first review of the all-new Audi TT, but it’s the first one we’ve seen of the range-topping model, the TTS.

With 306 horsepower from a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine and four-wheel drive, the Audi TTS is a fast car, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. But what is it like to drive?

Autocar’s Matt Prior says the new TT is the first one that drives as good as it looks. Surprisingly though, the TTS is not quite as fun to drive as the VW Golf R, according to the reviewer. Among the reasons he cites the steering, deemed too light and lacking in feedback, and the chassis, which doesn’t feel as solid as the Golf R’s.

However, Prior says the TT is a proper sports car, for the first time in the nameplate’s history. Scroll down to watch the review.
