Remember Jaguar’s spoof of Mercedes’ Magic Body Control commercial in which a chicken was eaten by a… jaguar (the animal, not the car)?

Well, it’s time now for another spoof of the brilliant ad from Mercedes-Benz, but this one doesn’t come from an automaker, although it uses Lada’s name at the end.

While Mercedes’ original commercial featured real chickens moving only from the neck down to the beat of Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” to advertise the Magic Body Control suspension system, this seemingly Russian-made spoof uses cats that move to the same tune. The only difference is that their heads move along with their bodies.

The message at the end says “Lada – we don’t need foreign”, an allusion to recent western economic sanctions on Russia due to the Ukraine crisis, to which Russia has threatened to reply by banning western car imports.

Obviously, the message is ironic, as it makes fun of Lada’s vehicles, which are not renowned for their high levels of comfort. We don’t know how old this video is, but it’s certainly funny. Scroll down to watch it, along with Jaguar’s spoof and the original Mercedes-Benz ad.
