Isn’t it funny / ironic that enthusiasts embrace wagons when mainstream consumers detest them in the States?

One of the estates that is picking up steam here with gear-heads lately is BMW’s 3-Series Touring of the E30 generation – no doubt thanks to the 25 year old importation law.

We should see more of them coming our way over the next four years, as unlike the sedan that was replaced with the E36 in 1991, the Touring was kept in production until late 1993.

Everyone has their own favorites, but I’d say that for most enthusiasts, the holy grail of E30 Tourings would be a 325i with a manual gearbox and the complete M Tech 2 package (both inside and out).

The 1989 325i Touring we discovered on eBay has the M Tech 2 kit and a whole bunch of other extras too, but instead of the manual, it has the lazy four-speed automatic.

We could have coped with that, but the real deal-breaker that turns it from a sweet bimmer to a bitter bummer is that it’s a UK-market, right-hand drive model.

If you don’t mind driving from the wrong side of your car, you can place a bid for the silver example from Florida with 130,750 miles (210,377 km) on eBay.
