Compact SUVs and crossovers have come a long way in only a few years and this is most evident by the high-performance Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG. Add Brabus to the mix and what you get is purely explosive…

Just think about it; with Brabus’ engine tune, the GLA 45 AMG’s 2.0-liter turbocharged-four has roughly the same power as a 2000’s supercar like the Ferrari 360!

After the conversion, the top-of-the line GLA model produces 400PS (395hp) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft), up from 360PS (355hp) and 450Nm (331 lb-ft), allowing it to reach 100km/h (62mph) from standstill in 4.4 seconds and climb to a top speed of 270km/h (168mph).

Brabus’ latest program also includes an upgrade for the GLA 250 from 211PS to 245PS (242hp) for a 0-100km/h sprint in 6.7 sec and a top speed of 250km/h (155mph), as well as for the diesel-powered GLA 220 CDI that gets a 40PS boost to 210PS (207hp) and a reduced 0-100km/h time of 8.0 sec with a new maximum speed of 220km/h (137mph).

Both the GLA 45 AMG and the GLA AMG Sport trim models get a new styling kit highlighted by aerodynamic-enhancing components like the front spoiler and bumper trims, rear diffuser, roof spoiler, quad exhaust pipes and alloy wheels ranging in diameter from 18 to 21 inches.

Elsewhere, there’s LED underfloor lighting, a 25mm lowered sports suspension or alternatively, a 30mm taller off-road suspension, and numerous interior options such as custom leather surfaces, anodized pedals and door lock pins, and aluminum ‘Race’ shift paddles.
