While it may be a little late to the party, the new Ford Mondeo is really important for the carmaker as it needs to keep Ford relevant in one of Europe’s most popular and profitable segments.

So what do prospective customers think of the all-new model? What Car assembled some owners of the previous-generation Mondeo for an assessment of the new model, and the conclusions were generally positive.

While everyone agreed that the new car is a significant step forward in terms of design, when it came to practicality, some didn’t like the fact that the boot is slightly smaller on the sedan compared to the previous model. Cabin space and quality were deemed as good, though.

As for the ergonomics, some owners of older Mondeos complained of the new model’s touch screen and lack of buttons, while others liked the way the screen works and the fact that the center console features less buttons than before.
