A drag race between BMW’s latest M5 and Ferrari’s four-seater from the speed-loving Swedes at GTBoard has created a bit of tension on YouTube’s comments area.

On paper, the Ferrari FF is the clear winner as it’s 651hp (660PS) 6.3-liter V12 has 99hp (100PS) more than the M5’s 552hp (560PS) 4.4-liter turbo’d V8 (though, BMW is known to underrate its engines), it’s 155kg (342 lbs) lighter and also comes with all-wheel drive that helps in a straight-line duel.

Ferrari quotes a 3.7 second run to 100km/h (62mph) versus BMW’s time of 4.3 seconds. Yet, despite having all those advantages, up until the M5’s speed limiter kicked in at 250km/h (155mph), the Ferrari was trailing the BMW.

GTBoard says that with the exception of a suspension tune and a different exhaust for the M5, the two cars are stock, but some viewers are saying it’s not so.

YouTuber Heiki Laud commented:

“This bimmer piece of shit is definitely NOT STOCK! Who are you trying to fool Gustav or whatever your name is?! It’s ridiculous to even try to claim something like that. Ferrari FF: 660hp and 1790 kg weight VS 560 hp and 1945 kg weight…and you expect us to believe that the much heavier car with less horsepower beats a much lighter car with 100 hp more? LOL The BMW is most definitely TUNED. I’m now unsubscribing from this bullshit lying channel.

Others are siding with the channel:

“for everyone wondering…The M5 F10 comes usually with 600 to even 620 hp from the factory.. these cars are very underrated hp wise they pull even Gtrs from 200 kmh !! Very fast Autobahn Cruiser,” wrote YouTube user Watermelon.
