Fiat is so excited about its new 500X small crossover that it’s releasing a special launch edition for the first 2,000 customers from Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Switzerland.

It’s called the 500X Opening Edition and besides the special badging featuring the name of the model, what it really offers is a ton of extras at a discounted price.

The special edition is available in three versions, including two front-wheel drive options with the 140PS 1.4 Turbo MultiAir II petrol and the 120PS1.6 MultiJet II diesel engines, and one 4×4 with the 140PS 2.0 MultiJet II diesel.

The FWD models are available with the “chic” urban exterior trim in an Art Grey color, and feature 18-inch wheels, the Safety and Comfort packages, plus the Keyless Entry & Keyless Go system and tinted windows as standard offering savings of €2,500 if ordered separately. Prices in Italy start from €21,900 (equal to US$27,800).

If you choose the 500X’s AWD version, it comes with the more rugged looking exterior package exclusively in tri-coat red paint and a host of standard kit such as navigation with a 6.5-inch screen, two-tone red and black interior and the Visibility package that adds rain and light sensors, electrically folding door mirrors and steering wheel controls. It starts from €30,650 (US$38,900 at today’s exchange rates) representing savings of €3,500 in Italy.

First deliveries will take place in the beginning of next year.
