Can a fancy-pansy tuned SEMA Show concept give the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata some of its mojo back? Maybe it can get a few people talking about it again, but not really…

The real problem lies with the Korean firm’s softer and more conservative design approach with the latest generation model that hasn’t resonated well with US buyers.

The SEMA Show project car was made in cooperation with John Pangilinan, who Hyundai believes is a household name that needs no introduction.

If we’re not mistaken, Hyundai is talking about this John Pangilinan who describes himself as “a jack of all trades based in Downtown Long Beach, CA. Specializing in public relations, photography, marketing and brand development”.

As for the car itself, the JP Edition Sonata gets a wide body and lip kit from LTMW, 19-inch RAYS wheels in Toyo R888 tires, an AEM cold air intake, a MagnaFlow exhaust kit and a hot charge pipe from Bisimoto engineering. A pair of Recaro front seats and a high-end audio system complete the build.
