The new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa not only looks a lot like its predecessor, but it also feels like it. CarBuyer recently had a go in one and discovered that bar the new three-pot turbo engine, improved cabin design and fresh exterior styling, you can really trace its roots back…

Granted, that’s not a bad thing, as the outgoing Corsa was always a competent entry in its class – it even spawned an equally competent hot hatch and was generally regarded as a decent drive.

However, there are several all-new and therefor much more modern alternatives in the class, and in the end those who will opt for the new Corsa will do so on monetary grounds.

By not changing all that much of the mechanicals, Opel/Vauxhall will be able to sell the new Corsa slightly cheaper in the UK than the old one (as per the information contained in this review). That may be the clincher for some.
