While the revamped Juke made its international debut last March at Geneva, it was launched in the US just now, at the LA Auto Show, and will be available at dealers with a starting price of US$20,250*.

The 2015 compact crossover features Nissan’s new “V-Motion” front fascia, projector beam headlights and LED daytime driving lights, LED turn signals on the side mirrors and redesigned “boomerang” taillights along with a reshaped rear fascia.

The cabin has a 5.8-inch color touch screen for the infotainment system and the optional Around View Monitor and Nissan Connect navigation and mobile apps systems. According to Nissan, the “most intriguing” addition is the personalization program with a range of “color packs” for the bodywork, the interior and even the alloy wheels. All in all, the color palette includes nine colors and a total of 12 accessories.

Like its predecessor, the 2015 Juke will be available in five trims: S, SV, SL, NISMO and NISMO RS. All bar the NISMO RS version are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four cylinder with direct injection. Although the all-aluminum engine’s output of 188HP and 177 lb-ft of torque remain unchanged, Nissan claims to have significantly revised it for improved throttle response and reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Customers will once again be able to choose between front- and all-wheel drive models, the latter with a torque vectoring system. If, however, they prefer the 6-speed manual gearbox to the Xtronic CVT auto, they will have to pick a NISMO or NISMO RS.

The NISMO versions come with unique features like a leather and alcantara steering wheel, sports seats and front and rear spoilers that increase downforce by 37 percent compared to the non-NISMO models.

Opt for the NISMO RS and you’ll get Recaro sports seats along with 215HP and 210 lb-ft of torque for the manual transmission-equipped version and 211HP and 184 lb-ft for the Xtronic. NISMO RS models with the manual gearbox also come with a helical-geared limited-slip differential as standard for reduced torque-steer and improved handling
