Opel/Vauxhall has tried to instill in us the idea that its Adam is a cool car way before it was launched.

The model itself is not bad per se, but it’s the way they’re marketing it that’s a bit silly (and a bit of a turnoff) – so too is case with the Rocks, maybe even more so than the regular version.

I mean, how hard can you look like you’re trying when you call a car what you want people to think of it…

The Adam Rocks is minimally different to the regular Adam. It rides ever so slightly taller on its springs and comes with plastic cladding, but that’s really about it.

CarBuyer’s new host Ginny Buckley struggled to find a reason for its existence and bashed it for trying too hard, in the end concluding that there’s a reason why no other manufacturers chose to make a model along the same lines – can you imagine a Fiat 500 or a Ford Ka with similar treatment?

Yes, you can, but don’t really want to, do you?
