Electric vehicles are still far from being mainstream, although the situation seems to be changing and picking up pace in that sense. You can now even buy premium EVs, like the familiar Tesla Model S, but if that’s too expensive and you still want something to show off to your friends, the BMW i3 is a cheaper option.

KBB says there is a lot of substance to the i3 package. It, as we’ve already learnt, drives better than its skinny tires would have you believe at first, and the experience behind the wheel is actually distinctly BMW-esque. It even has normal feeling brakes, as opposed to the awkward regen-ridden ones that some rivals have.

The interior is suitably upmarket and eco friendliness-oriented, with all sorts of recycled and renewable materials used throughout. It’s also pretty practical and usable, especially if you opt for the range extender model.
