With up to 624 hp, the 2014 Shelby Mustang GT/SC promises blistering straight line pace (zero to sixty in 3.7 seconds), as well as unique styling treatment for extra parking lot kudos.

It not only is more powerful and stiffer than the regular Mustang GT, but also louder and generally meaner.

XCar drove it recently and discovered it’s an old school point and squirt coupe. The extra power (it can also be had with 525 hp) is kept in check by six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, as well as an Eibach sway bar and coil-over kit. There’s also an aluminum drive shaft in place and special 20-inch wheels too.

If you fancy a car fitting the above description, then hurry and get yourself in one of these while you can still buy it new. Whatever Shelby does in the future based on the new Mustang will be very different to this, and it may not be as satisfactory. It will also be more expensive too.
