Visiting an automobile museum or factory without sampling a car is like going to a restaurant and not getting food, and Porsche wants to change that.

The German automaker is launching a pilot project named Porsche Drive, under which visitors at its headquarters and museum in the Zuffenhausen district of Stuttgart, will be able to rent cars from their current model lineup from one hour up to an entire week.

“The fascination of our sports cars can be directly experienced with Porsche Drive”, said Porsche executive Bernhard Maier.

Porsche says that it will offer its full range of production cars (no, they didn’t mention if the 918 Spyder belongs to that list) with prices starting from as low as €69 (US$85 at today’s rates) for one hour of driving the mid-engine Boxster roadster or Cayman coupe and Macan SUV, while the 911 will cost you a bit more at €99 (US$123) with “100 free kilometers [62 miles] included.

You can get more info on the program over at Porsche Drive or by visiting the museum which accepts reservations from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
