We can only think of three things that have somehow managed to remain relevant and awesome after 30 long years: rock ‘n’ roll, rally legend Walter Rohrl, and Audi in motorsport.

An awesome new video celebrating at least two of the three features Rohrl behind the wheel of rally driver Mattias Ekstrom’s new Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro rallycross monster.

Walter Rohrl may have won his last race 30 years ago in the 1985 San Remo Rally, but the 67-year-old German is still blisteringly quick and Scandinavian flicks with the best of them. Thanks to 30 years of racing progress, Walter Rohrl remarked at the new Audi S1 Quattro rallycross machine’s unbelievable power as well as its lightness, telepathic handling, and immediate gear shifts.

The 2014 Audi S1 EKS RX was a contender at this year’s World Rallycross championship series. The rally-spec S1 features a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that delivers more than 600hp, more than enough to catapult the machine from 0-60 in just 2.0 seconds in the dirt!

On the ride along with Walter Rohrl piloting the new Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro, Mattias Ekstrom says it’s an experience he will remember forever. In fact, Ekstrom actually noted that he was surprised to realize Rohrl approached a number of corners even faster than he did!

Apparently, the old dog still got all his tricks! Be sure to watch Audi’s greatest racing driver Walter Rohrl behind the wheel of the latest 2015 Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro below.
