As the fourth-generation Opel/Vauxhall Astra is entering its sixth full year on the market, Photoshop manipulators are trying to guess what the next-generation model will look like.

Remco Meulendijk from RM Design Blog is among the first to draw the fifth-generation Astra, expected to arrive sometime in 2016. While we don’t know the artist’s sources of inspiration for these drawings, it’s obvious he has chosen an evolutionary path.

The car’s window line and rear end are similar to the current model, but the front end looks more aggressive thanks to the creased bonnet and redesigned grille.

Plus, the headlights and taillights look sleeker than those on the current model. While the renderings don’t look bad at all, I hope Opel will be more brave with the design of the new Astra. What do you think?
