The Chevy Corvette C7 Z06 has a 625 hp supercharged V8, while the Viper TA packs slightly more, at 640 hp, from its atmospheric V10. Both cars are somewhat evenly matched in a straight line, although even with more torque, the Corvette lags behind.

In the (low quality) video posted below, you can see the Viper is always nudging ahead, even if all runs are in-gear and none are from a standing start.

The Corvette, with its extra torque, should have the upper hand here, but doesn’t, even if it does seem to sprint forward ever so slightly more than the Viper when the hammer drops.

Check out the video after the virtual jump. It features several in-gear runs shot from both perspectives, and it makes you wonder if the Viper’s 15 extra horsepower is really that noticeable when doing runs such as these.
