Honda has unveiled the all-new N-BOX SLASH kei car in Japan, the fifth model of the N Series.
The mini vehicle retains the previous model’s boxy shape characteristic of Japan’s kei car segment, although Honda says the new generation also features a “coupe-like” form. However, if there’s a car more distant to a coupe, it’s certainly the N-BOX SLASH.
The new kei car offers a series of personalization options, both for the exterior and the interior, and is equipped with a newly-developed, high-end audio system called Sound Mapping System, which is said to generate a full-blown deep bass and high-quality sounds.
The playful themes available for the interior prove that Honda wanted to create a relaxing cabin for passengers. The new model also brings newly-adopted functions that make the driver’s life easier such as the Electric Parking Brake and the Mode Switching Steering, which enables the driver to select between two modes of power steering assist.
The Honda N-BOX SLASH is powered by a 660cc petrol engine, available both in naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants. The model is offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with fuel consumption rated as low as 25.8 km/liter (3.87 l/100 or 60.7 mpg US). Prices start from 1,380,000 yen ($11,515) for the base FWD model.
