Although the recently-unveiled Opel Karl (called Vauxhall Viva in the UK) is a budget offering expected to start at under €10,000, this doesn’t mean it can’t be given the virtual OPC treatment.

Sure, chances for an Opel Karl OPC are slim, considering that the brand already has the Adam S to cover that segment, but it’s an interesting exercise nevertheless. And when I say interesting, I mean it proves Opel should not build an OPC version for the Karl.

That’s because the Karl (strange name for a car, I know) is not the most attractive vehicle to begin with, and giving it an aggressive aero kit just doesn’t fix that. On the contrary, it makes it look more massive, adding to an already tall profile. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think the market will miss an Opel Karl OPC. Especially since there will be a Corsa OPC.
