A Porsche 918 Spyder was utterly destroyed in a crash that occurred on a narrow residential street in China. Although modern supercars make claims of everyday driveability, the 887hp hybrid supercar is obviously too much car for the average driver.

Based on the images, a silver Porsche 918 Spyder must have lost control, climbed over a curb, and slammed into a tree. Given the extensive damage to the front end, it’s safe to say that the Porsche was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Thankfully, the Porsche 918 Spyder’s passenger cell held up extremely well despite the massive impact. While the details of the accident are unclear, the men standing by the wrecked Porsche are likely the driver and passenger.

Sadly, the latest Porsche 918 wreck in China also recalls the tragic Porsche Carrera GT crash that killed Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker and racing driver Roger Rodas. According to police reports of the incident, the Carrera GT climbed a curb, struck a tree, a light pole, and a second tree. The Porsche Carrera GT driven by Roger Rodas split in half and ignited in flames after striking a third tree.

Back in September, we also reported that a Porsche 918 Spyder suddenly went up in flames in Toronto, Canada.
