With Mercedes having already launched their new C-Class, Jaguar preparing for the launch of the XE and Audi readying a new A4, time has come for BMW to polish up their 3-Series.

After our scoop of the 2016MY 3-Series sedan, we’ve now come across the estate model with the Touring moniker in both regular and M Sport editions.

Exterior revisions are subtle with BMW’s designers reworking bumpers on both ends of all 3-Series models (that includes the GT as well), placing new headlamp clusters and giving the taillights different graphics.

On the inside, we suspect that the Bavarians will update the 3-Series’ multimedia systems with the latest features and make some mild changes to the décor.

The big news will be the addition of BMW’s new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines mounted in a longitudinal position and driving the rear wheels, as well as the presentation of a newer generation of turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline units.

A question remains on whether BMW will renamed the 335i to 340i (as rumored), or if it will keep the 335i moniker and add the M340i to the range with a more potent version of its straight six delivering around 370-horses to compete against the Audi S4 and the newly announced Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport.
