As we’re approaching the scheduled launch date for the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, we found footage of a model out in the open.

The footage comes via walkoART, the same youtube channel who brought us the GLE walkaround video and it shows the new Maybach looking a lot like the regular LWB S-Class. Although the Mercedes-Maybach is 200mm longer than the long wheelbase S-Class sedan, visually it looks pretty much like the same car, which is quite a departure from the old generation Maybachs. Some find it tasteful, others a bit pointless.

The car in this video may be a pre-production model as it doesn’t feature any inscriptions (Maybach, S600, V12, nothing) and the quad exhausts look a bit different than the ones in the press release photos, but this might just be because of the footage.

The Mercedes-Maybach will be available initially in its S600 spec, featuring a twin turbo V12 engine, putting down 530 HP and a massive 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque. Soon afterwards, a 4MATC S500 version will be available too, with a 4.7 liter V8 twin turbo.
