Here’s a new video of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and even though the car is not racing, or even moving around, it looks as though it’s ready to attack its main rivals.

The 2016 CTS-V is Cadillac’s most powerful production car ever, laying down rubber at a maddening pace thanks to its 640 HP Supercharged V8. This of course is GM’s LT4 unit that you also get in the new C7 Corvette Z06, but with 10 fewer horses and about 20 lb-ft less.

Cadillac claims the CTS-V will reach 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and keep going all the way to 200 mph (322km/h), which means it will leave your M5, E63 AMG or whatever other European or Asian sports saloon you happen to be driving, in the dust. The jury is still out on the Charger SRT Hellcat, but something tells us not even the CTS-V can keep up in a straight line without giving up one or two car lengths.

This video gives us a quick glimpse of the CTS-V’s exterior and its inner workings while it’s getting ready to drive away. Except Cadillac won’t let it, for some reason. Maybe they’re just teasing us before giving us more footage of the car doing what it was always meant to do. Be driven fast.
