The A1 is Audi’s first ever supermini segment car. Most people find it just cute, while some really like it because not only of its looks but also its premium feel.

Audi, however, feels that this car shouldn’t be just a premium small car, or just a MINI Cooper rival. They feel that the A1’s charms can extend far beyond its, well, limitations. When you make a very small car, it’s oftentimes unwelcome in certain, more fancy locations.

Such a location is of course Monaco, a place that can make your LaFerrari disappear into a crowd of similarly expensive hypercars. Fun fact, you can buy 52 Audi A1s for the price of one LaFerrari. Which isn’t something any hypercar owner would think about.

So, how does the A1 fit in with all the glamor and yachts and what not that you find in Monaco? According to Audi and this video montage, like a charm.

The facelifted Audi A1 features both a reworked 1.6 liter TDI engine, with 116 HP, 250 Nm of torque and an average fuel consumption of just 3.5 liter per every 100km, as well as a new 1.0 95 HP TFSI engine. So yes, this is a fun looking, economical car, and it’s got a premium badge on it – which should help it fit right in anywhere.

On the other hand, don’t expect to see the “carparazzi” flock to snap some quick pictures of a €19,000 car.
