There’s just something really spectacular about seeing the all-new GMC Denali, lifting up and then setting off under hard acceleration. It just looks so wrong for it to be capable of hitting sixty in 4.5 seconds, but it can, with a 665 hp supercharger kit by Hennessey.

Zero to sixty in 4.5 seconds is a feat for a vehicle that weighs 2,623 kg (5,784 lbs) with the bigger V8 specified.

John Hennessey demonstrates the modified SUV’s performance, while also pitting it against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. It obviously loses, but it looks like it has much better traction off the line – it launches nicely while the Hellcat just seems to get bogged down with wheelspin.

He also does a burnout, which is definitely not something you usually see people doing with their ladder chassis family and dog haulers…
