If you were anxious about seeing what the current F1 champions had going as far as their new car for the 2015 season, you’ll be happy they decided not to let people wait anymore.

This is the all-new 2015 Mercedes AMG W06 Hybrid out and about on the track during a promotional event at Silverstone yesterday, and our first impression is a very good one.

Despite the fact that we should all come to terms that all 2015 F1 cars are going to use this downward sloped nose (hey, retro look!), at least the shape of the nose itself isn’t a weird one anymore.

The PU106B Hybrid Power Unit Mercedes W06 exited the pits yesterday afternoon in icy conditions, wearing full wets which are instantly recognizable because of the deep grooves in the tread pattern and of course the blue sidewall markings.

The team released these two images of the car, which apart from the new nose design, features re-sculpted bodywork and a new front wing with three distinctive blades on each side as opposed to just two on last years’ car.

The day ended prematurely however because of a blizzard, but not before the team had done a total of 18 laps (47.2 km), with both Nico Rosberg as well as Lewis Hamilton having a go.

The W06 Hybrid will make its public track debut in Jerez, Sunday, February 1st.
