Our spy shooter friend Toldi forwarded these shots of a “new mysterious BMW prototype captured in Stuttgart” to our email, but we’re not convinced that it’s a BMW.

In fact, if he hadn’t mentioned the brand with a spinning propeller for a logo, we would have sworn that the car he captured was a discarded Jaguar XE prototype. The covered up rear window, four door handles and pinched beltline all point to the testers of the English firm’s BMW 3-Series fighter.

It’s not unheard of for automakers to continue driving camouflaged prototypes of cars already introduced, and let’s not forget that they also test different versions of existing models.

Nevertheless, do take a look at the (low quality) video with the still shots below (compare them with our own spy pictures of the Jaguar XE) and tell us what you think it is.
