Polaris Stop Sale of Slingshot, Issues Recall for Possible Steering Rack Fault

| |

Polaris has just announced that it is stopping sale of the new Slingshot three-wheeler after it discovered some vehicles may have defective ball bearings in their steering racks – it’s issuing a voluntary recall.

Owners are asked not to drive their Slingshot at all and have it immediately taken in for an inspection.

On top of this, some other cars will be recalled for a different problem too. Apparently, the roll hoops located behind the driver and passenger are apparently not up to the job on some examples – we don’t really understand how only certain models can be affected, since all use the same part, right?

Cars will be called in and Polaris will replace the hoops with proper ones free of charge. The faulty bearings will obviously also be supported by the manufacturer.
