Now, I’m not going to get all preachy about how affecting the lives of innocent people in order to push political and diplomatic agendas through military action is so-last-century (or should be), but you cannot remain unaffected by videos such as this one.
The action takes place in the war-torn east-Ukrainian city located on the north coast of the Azov sea. It’s the second largest city in the Donetsk region and in recent months it’s been the theater of heated military confrontations between east- and west-loving factions.
Now for the videos. One is of the traditional dash cam variety, but instead of showing a crash caused by stupidity and/or drinking, it shows the brutality of a rocket strike. It’s hard not to think of the terror the people must be living in knowing it could happen again any minute…
The other is a EuroNews report.
And don’t think the footage caught some distant bang followed by a smoke cloud rising far away – the rockets exploded like a few car lengths in front; you’ll notice the small pickup actually seems to get hit.
Simply horrible stuff to watch, but it is real and dramatic.
