The refreshed Toyota Yaris is taking on the all-new Honda Fit this year on the North American market. The Fit comes with a new engine and a camera under the right mirror to show the lane when merging – what does the Yaris get for 2015? A four-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota’s Yaris isn’t all bad, but its interior looks bland compared to that of the Fit, plus it lacks its big boot and clever rear seat arrangement. On the outside it’s not bad looking at all, gaining more of a personality through its facelift, but the Honda just nudges it by being a bit sharper and more modern.

The comparative review by AutoGuide calls the Fit the undeniable winner of the confrontation, noting that it’s at the top of its class – perhaps they should have measured it up against a Ford Fiesta with a turbocharger.
