YouTuber Shmee150 has just traded in his McLaren 12C coupe for a brand new 650S Spider. I know, that’s not the usual trade-in most of us (the lucky ones) get to do from time to time…
He ordered his car in the spectacular pearlescent metallic Mantis Green paint and specced it with carbon fiber exterior parts on the outside and Alcantara and carbon pack inside.
As I’m sure you know, the 650S is an improvement over the 12C in terms of performance, using a modified version of the 12C’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that gains 25hp and 78Nm (58 lb-ft), for a total of 641hp (650PS) and 678Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque.
The engine is mated to a faster and better-controlled seven-speed dual clutch gearbox driving the rear wheels, with the result of these changes being an improved 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint time by 0.1 seconds to 3.0 seconds. 0-125 mph (201 km/h) has also improved by 0.5 seconds to 8.4 seconds.
