It’s actually just under $30 million, but the point of the ad was to bring together one of the most expensive cars ever auctioned and one of the most affordable modern day Mercs ever made.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA is a sporty compact saloon (or 4 door coupe) that sells for as little as $31,500 MSRP in the US. This is of course the CLA 250 version, which packs 211 HP straight out of its inline-4, 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine.

It’s no slouch on the road, as it’s able to hit 62 mph in just 6.7 seconds thanks to its low weight and its 7G-DCT automatic gearbox.

Despite its size, the CLA is a pretty good looking thing – one would argue that it’s a lot better looking than its main rival, the Audi A3 Sedan.

But does it have anything in common with the famous W196 race car? Nothing except for the badge. Still, the point of the ad isn’t lost on us and we feel that the starting price of the CLA is a very fair one considering the fact that it’s a Mercedes-Benz, it’s sporty and you’ll never get bored of looking at it.
