BMW organized a press event on the Circuit of the Americas, just outside of Austin, Texas, to showcase its new X6 M super-SUV/coupe.

The reviews should be pouring in pretty soon, and we’re curious to see how the vehicles will be perceived by the journos invited to drive them – we already know what the very similar X5 (diesel…) drives like, so in the case of the X6 (M) it’s just a matter of perception.

People are prejudiced a bit when it comes to the X6, and especially the X6 M, because they say these cars are really poser mobiles that have no real practical purpose – some are less adamant and would be happy to own the more family-friendly X5 M, which is basically the same thing but a bit bigger.

In the video posted below, we see the X6 Ms passing by on the aforementioned track in an orderly fashion and without too much hoonage involved; we hope the reviewers were able to push it more since they were, after all, on a track. One of the reviewers will be Bob Flavin, the uploader of this video – it’s a kind of review teaser from him.
