If you remember the 1960s show “The Saint,” then you surely know the Volvo 1800S, at least by shape. It’s the stylish coupe used by Roger Moore’s character, Simon Templar, and it has a prominent role on the show.

Apparently, The Saint’s creators actually wanted an E-Type but Jaguar said no; they later made up their mistake when “Return of the Saint” came out in the 1970s…

As a car, the 1800 is bought mainly for the way it looks, as its styling is seen as iconic for the era. It’s not as bold-looking as the more powerful Jaguar E-Type, but its styling is more delicate and leaves the impression of a very different type of car, even if both are coupes.

There are still many out on the road, many probably specifically because of the show, and one of the better ones in the UK is owned by Hagerty International’s managing director, Mr. Angus Forsyth. Hear his story and see his car below!
