As with all of Lincoln’s recent Matthew McConaughey ads, we’re not exactly sure what picture they think they’re painting for the viewer so in this case, it’s either about the MKC crossover or McConaughey himself.

Hint: It’s obviously about the car, but he is one of the celebrities of the moment. When he speaks, you listen, because he’s managed to take his acting to a whole different level with roles such as Detective Rust Cohle in the HBO series True Detective and of course, starring as Cooper in the hit movie Interstellar.

Is the Lincoln MKC really the type of car that helps you live in the moment -in any way? I guess we’ll never know unless Cooper is doing the driving and we’re being [SPOILER ALERT] pulled ever closer to a super-massive black hole while our friends watch – you know, so that the moment can last a bunch of years for them and a few minutes for us. By the way, the physics of general relativity were a bit off during that part of the movie. There’s no way the temporal effect could be that strong from wherever it was they “dropped anchor” outside the atmosphere, to then being on the surface of the planet.

Oh, sorry there Lincoln, we kind of got caught up in a moment there and forgot this was an MKC ad. So as you already know, the MKC is being offered with either a 2.0 liter or a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine, producing 240HP and 285HP respectively. You can fit it with an optional all-wheel drive system, which we assume you’d want to do since this is a crossover (compact SUV even, in Euro terms).

The base price for a 2.0 liter Lincoln MKC with front wheel drive is $33,100, which is about $4,000 less than you’d have to spend on a Land Rover Discovery Sport. But, which one would you rather have?
