Kia continues the development of its refreshed Cee’d line-up, and this time it’s the three-door Pro_Cee’d that gets the attention of our spies.

It’s been three years since the current generation of the Golf-rivalling Cee’d first debuted and Kia is giving it the nip-and-tuck treatment in order to keep it fresh and relevant against the strong opposition.

Judging by the heavy camo on the car, it’s safe to say that the facelifted Pro_Cee’d will feature updated front and rear bumpers and lights, while the interior will benefit from the usual refreshing touches. We expect to see the company’s next-gen infotainment systems too, whic offer full integration with Android and Apple smartphones.

Under the skin, no major changes are expected except for the addition of the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission we saw debuting in the diesel version of the also facelifted Hyundai i30. Whether the new gearbox will find its way and mate with a petrol engine remains to be seen. The range of the petrol and diesel engines is expected to remain the same, with small changes in order to further improve the efficiency of the line-up.

The facelifted Kia Pro_Cee’d is expected to premiere this fall, but we won’t be that surprised if Kia decides to unveil it earlier in Geneva this March.
