All-New Acura NSX Arrives in Geneva Dressed as a Honda

Following its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, the all-new Acura NSX has its European debut in Geneva with Honda badges.

When the Honda NSX hybrid supercar will arrive in European dealerships in early 2016 it will be identical with the Acura variant, meaning it will use the same hybrid powertrain consisting of a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine mated to a 9-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and three electric motors.

The rear direct drive electric motor supports acceleration, braking and transmission shifting performance, while the NSX’s front wheels are driven by twin independent high-output electric motors which deliver instantaneous torque response and dynamic left-to-right distribution. The hybrid system sends power to all four-wheels via Honda’s Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD).

The Honda NSX has a space frame design combining aluminum, ultra-high strength steel and other advanced materials, anchored by a carbon fiber floor. The hybrid supercar also utilizes a fully independent, all-aluminum front and rear suspension.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have output or performance numbers, but hopefully Honda will release them as the car gets officially unveiled later today.
