Hyundai brought the mid-sized i40 up to speed the with the rest of its range, giving it the same treatment with the i20 and i30 hatchbacks.

So, the updated i40 gets the same hexagonal grille with the others along with a few more upgrades. These include the new seven-speed double clutch transmission we first saw in the new Tucson and facelifted i30, new Bi-Xenon headlamps and an updated Lane Keeping Assist System that now features a ‘Smart High Beam’ function first seen on the Genesis and a ‘Speed Limit Identification Function’ which reads the road signs and alerts the driver about the speed limit.

The Wagon also gains a “Rear Electronic Damping Control System” (ECS) which means rear adaptive dampers in plain English, allowing the driver to change the settings of the rear suspension through the offered drive modes. Hyundai’s new 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system is also available while the interior benefits from new high quality materials for the steering wheel, armrests and gear selector.

Available with two diesel and two petrol engines, “the new i40 stands out for its sleek and elegant expression, yet it remains uncompromised on comfort and load capacity,” states Hyundai.
