Let’s talk about unnecessary ruggedness, because this thing has it, plenty of it. Something else it has, is one of the all-time most bad-ass nicknames in automotive history. Say it with us – The Flying Huntsman.

Besides the fact that it sounds like it’s going to chase down your merchant ship on the open seas and take your cargo, it also looks like it could handle just about anything you could throw at it.

We’re talking about a stretched Land Rover Defender with 6×6 traction and a GM-sourced LS3 6.2 liter V8 engine which sends all of its 430 HP to all of the Huntsman’s six wheels with the help of a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Kahn Design says that this car will “outrun any roadgoing SUV” thanks to its massive power, hi-lo ratio drive system, locking differentials and upgraded brakes and suspension. We’re sure it would outrun most, especially on rough terrain, but otherwise, it will probably be faster than your average 3.0 liter turbodiesel SUV at best. There’s no way it’s taking on any German V8 SUVs in a straight line.

When compared to the standard LR Defender 110, the Huntsman 6×6 is 1,200mm longer and wider by 150mm – and it shows.

Even though Kahn is currently calling this a Concept, we’re looking forward to seeing them mass producing it for those in need. And of course, for those who just love the way it looks.
